Charles E. Meyers, Jr., D.D.S.
Dr. Meyers joined the staff at ORTHODONTIX LTD in December 2004. Since that time it has become evident that his practice philosophies, diagnoses and treatment techniques compliment and have enhanced the services provided by our team. Dr. Meyers has truly become an integral part of our team at ORTHODONTIX LTD.
Dr. Meyers received his B.S. from the University of Missouri-Columbia. He earned his D.D.S. from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry and later completed his specialty training in their Orthodontic Residency Program.
Dr. Meyers combined his dental expertise with a distinguished U.S. Army career, including assignments both in the United States and abroad. Among his many accomplishments, he developed and obtained program accreditation and was chairman of the first U.S. Army Orthodontic Residency Program. During his eight years as Department Chairman, he graduated 22 orthodontists, 20 of which are now Diplomates of the American Board of Orthodontics, representing one of the highest percentages of Board Certified graduates of any orthodontic residency program in the United States.
Dr. Meyers was the first Army orthodontist to receive the “A” Prefix Designator from the U.S. Surgeon General and was also awarded the Legion of Merit, among other honors. Upon his retirement with the rank of Colonel, he entered private practice in Georgia and has continued to build an impressive record of lecturing, publishing and teaching.
He and his wife, Jeri, have two adult sons who are in the military. Owen is currently stationed in Guam, and Eddie is a practicing Registered Nurse. Their two dogs, Tanner and Tyler complete the family.
Dr. Meyers is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics and a member of the American Association of Orthodontists.
